Justin is a law professor at the University of Denver, where he specializes in Animal Law, Criminal Law, and constitutional law.  He is the faculty director the University of Denver’s Animal Program, and a founder and director of a law school clinic focused on legal representation for activists, the Animal Activist Legal Defense Project.  He is the author of multiple books, including the award winning 2023 Truth and Transparency (co-authored with Alan Chen), which provides the first comprehensive social and legal study of undercover investigations in the U.S.
